With DIE GÖTTERDÄMMERUNG we have reached the end of the 20th century. We follow Siegfried on his journey through the Balkans ravaged by civil war. He visits the leaders of the Gibichunger’s clan, is seduced by the young, blond Gutrune and completely forgets Brünnhilde. The Balkans is devastated and violence and murder are a part of everyday life. The brutality and savagery is emphasized by a number of props like pistols, knives, a rifle with bayonet, a bazooka, bags with cocaine-like powder, a pallet of “spirits” and a lot of theatre blood!
